Along with Kusatsu Onsen and Arima Onsen, Gero Onsen is one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan.
The spring is alkaline and soft to the touch. Surrounded by rich nature, visitors can enjoy strolling in the hot spring resort area.
1. Suimeikan
The ryokan is located on the banks of the Hida River and has a garden on a large property of over 10,000 tsubo (about 1.5 acres).
There are three large public baths, and guests can enjoy a variety of hot spring baths within the hotel.

2. Yunoshimakan
Gero Onsen Yunoshimakan, with Mt. Yunoshima, known as Gero Fuji, in the background, exudes a calm and serene atmosphere.
Built in 1931 on a site of more than 50,000 tsubo (about 1.5 acres), it is a luxurious Sukiya-style building with a refined elegance that still evokes the romance of the early Showa period after the passage of centuries.

Fugaku uses genuine Gero spring water, which is of the highest quality in both source and quality, and the private hot spring is naturally free-flowing.
Guests do not need to go to noisy and crowded restaurants, but can relax in their own guest rooms without worrying about other people’s eyes, enjoy room service meals, and spend their private time leisurely.
5. Mutsumikan
Mutsumikan at Gero Onsen is only a 3-minute walk from Gero Station on the JR Takayama Line.
Gero Onsen, known as “hot water for beautiful skin,” can be enjoyed 24 hours a day, and its water is characterized by its smoothness and fragrance that clings to the skin.
The hotel also offers a view of lush greenery from the windows for a pleasant and relaxing stay. All 18 Japanese-style rooms offer a relaxing atmosphere and the scent of tatami mats to soothe travelers’ fatigue.

6. Ogawaya
A traditional ryokan located in the center of the Gero Onsen district.
The hotel boasts one of the largest baths in the Tokai region, with 100 square meters of tatami mats, as well as an outdoor bath and foot bath in the lobby, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of hot springs within the hotel.

7. Bosenkan
Mochikawa-kan has an open-air bath that feels connected to the river.
The large bathhouse has children’s baths of various depths, so that young children are also catered for.
Inside the building, there is a vast 1,100 tsubo (approximately 1,100 m2) Japanese style proposal where you can enjoy the scenery of each of the four seasons.
8. Sasara
An artistic pavilion on a hill.
The antique atmosphere is popular with women. There is the Sasara-kan with its beautiful night view, the Moriyama-kan with its lovely Japanese style rooms, and a detached house where you can relax and forget the passing of time.
Enjoy Gero’s famous hot spring water in the large bath on the top floor while overlooking Gero Onsen town and the clear Hida River.
9. Yamagataya
This traditional ryokan is located on the Hida River, a clear stream that flows through the center of Gero Onsen. Guests can enjoy seasonal views from their rooms. We offer seasonal dishes using local ingredients and seafood fresh from the market. Please relax in the spacious public bath with a sense of openness.
